The Immortalizer (WIP)

Introduction

I've been producing original or inspired stories dealing exclusively with the f2f theme for a while now. Of these many stories, I've had the most fun imagining not one, but two sequels to the film *The Immortalizer*, a charming little horror film from the 80s (which is almost considered a B-movie these days). For me, my favorite scene remains Peabody waking up in his new body. While discussing it with other fans of the film, I was thinking that a new version/remake/reboot of the film would be interesting for f2f fans. You're one of them if you're reading this article.

The  project

So, I'm embarking on the longest, most expensive, and most ambitious project yet: a complete remake of the film... on video! I'm continuing to teach myself all these AI tools. These AI tools are allowing me to realize one of my lifelong dreams: to be a director, as I've always loved cinema. This version will be offered in two formats: a traditional text and image format and a video format. At the moment, I can't say how long it will be (short? medium? long). This will be a long-term project. It will take me a lot of time, as I'll need to produce more images and videos to perfect the film.

The steps

Script - Progression : 95%

The first major step is building the story. The first half of the film will largely follow the beginning of the original film. There won't be any major surprises, in order to remain faithful to the original work. The story will be more modern. Then the second half will take a very different path but will maintain the same, slightly sarcastic tone as the film. I'm not revealing anything for now.

I've taken this opportunity to change my scriptwriting habits compared to my previous stories, making it more precise and more directive. The script will not be shared to preserve the surprises.

Casting - Progression : 100%

I'm going to keep most of the characters, but they'll be played by current actors. I've chosen my favorite actors and actresses, while respecting the characteristics of the original characters. I'll reveal the final cast shortly.

Costumes - Progression : 95%

Once the cast is finalized, it will be important to prepare them for their roles, dressing them in the most appropriate outfits. To maintain consistency throughout the story, and unlike my previous stories, the characters will wear the same smart attire for every situation. It might seem trivial, but it will look more professional.

Locations / Settings - Progression : 100%

Asking AI to design a location or a room multiple times will inevitably result in inconsistencies. Therefore, locations will be predefined and consistent throughout the story. Similar to costumes, this will ensure greater coherence.

The filming - Progression : 20%

This is the video generation stage. AI today allows for videos up to 15 seconds long. This is the most expensive part. The prompt needs to be as precise and directive as possible, with as many elements as possible. I'm a perfectionist; I'll take the time to make sure the video is exactly as I envision it.

Le montage - Progression : 0%

Once all the videos are produced, they'll first need to be ordered, then the most appropriate transitions chosen. Fortunately, the Target tool I use is free and well-designed. This step shouldn't take too long.

Dubbing - Progression : 0%

For some generated videos, it will be necessary to modify the sometimes haphazard dialogues generated by the various tools.

The broadcast - Progression : 0%

The film will be available in two formats:
Classic: Text and images
Modern: Video

Making of - Progression : 0%

To give it a bit of authenticity, I would produce some fake making-of/behind-the-scenes footage of the film.

Hallucinations - Progression : 0%

As an added bonus, I'll share some misinterpretations of certain prompts. They're sometimes amusing, sometimes disturbing, and sometimes even suggest new ideas.

Bloopers - Progression : 0%

If the budget allows, I will produce additional videos such as planned but failed scenes, which should be taken with humor.

Support the project

The production speed will depend on two factors: time and money. I have a job and a personal life, so I'll dedicate a small portion of my free time to this project. Each month, I plan to purchase credit for two AI tools. As mentioned, videos are expensive to produce. I might have to slow down video production while waiting to replenish my credit the following month... Unless you'd like to contribute to this project in any way you can.
